Describe what you do in 6 words or less:

Creating chaos. (I’m like a lightning storm tossing thunderbolts…)

Why did you choose to do what you do?

Most of your decisions are created from past experiences. My past was always centered around building stuff…from forts as a child to cars and trucks as a young man to becoming a DIY home specialist as an adult. I have always known what I wanted to do: my passion is making cool things great. When I created an opportunity to start my own business it was a new chance to build something that I had never done before, with one thought: “Focus on one thing and be the best at it.” So FlexMation was created.

What’s your favorite part about life at FlexMation?

Today, then tomorrow.

Coolest thing you’ve worked on?

Seeing FlexMation grow from 2 people, 1,500 sq. ft. office/shop area to our current 9,000 sq. ft. shop and 1,700 sq. ft. office area.

Where do you see manufacturing headed in the future?

More automation, IOT, connected industry, smart manufacturing. CONNECTING – machines, humans, products and environment so manufacturing companies can collect big data. Big data → Data analytics → Accurate manufacturing decisions. Creating “smart” in smart manufacturing.

If you could spend an hour talking with anyone, from any time period, who would it be?

Any of the Founding Fathers of America. My questions would be: What was your vision to write the Declaration of Independence? Technology has changed, but has the human thought process?

Words of Wisdom:

If we put life into perspective to the age of the Earth – we are only here for less than a nanosecond, which is faster than light. Life goes by fast… Don’t bog yourself down with things you can’t change. Focus on the things you can. Just don’t stop trying – always fail forward and you will be successful in whatever you do.
